Mary of Magdala was a disciple of Jesus after having seven demons cast out of her (Luke 8:2). She fearlessly stood with Jesus’ mother, Mary, Mary the wife of Clopas, and the disciple, John, at the foot of the cross. She was the first at the empty tomb and the very first to see Jesus alive and speak to him. She was the one to bring the good news to the disciples huddled in the upper room that Jesus had risen from the dead (Luke 24:10).
